GAFAM is richer than France!

GAFAM stands for Google, Apple, Facebook, Amazon, Microsoft. These are the most powerful digital enterprises in the world.

The five enterprises have different ways of generating their revenu but they are richer than the entirety of France's PIB

Apple's primary source of revenu comes from its hardware systems. Their products are sold at high prices and they are sold all over the world.

Amazon's primary source of revenu comes from its sales. Amazon is the go to online shopping application and website. Especially with Amazon Prime, clients often become addicted to buying things through the company. It is also quite reliable and has great customer service.

Google's primary source of revenu stems from its ads. Companies pay big money to have their company come up first in the Google search. The advertisements are everywhere on Google without being too distracting.

Microsoft's primary source of revenu is its software. Jeff Bezos is at the top spot for now but Bill Gates, founder of Microsoft, was the richest man in the world for multiple years:  from 2001-2007, in 2009 and from 2014-2017. (Source: Forbes)

Similar to Google, Facebook earns most of its revenu from advertisements. All throughout Facebook there are paid advertisements. The GAFAM are all known for this - if it's free, you are probably the product.

Although France has a sucessful economy with quite profitable enterprises, they are no match to GAFAM.
