Tech to defeat the Covid-19 epidemic


With the Coronavirus spreading like wildfire, nations all over the world are doing their best to find a solution the pandemic. In South Korea, where almost 8000 cases were found as of March 12, it is one of the countries with the most amount of cases at the moment.





To help citizens avoid infected areas, it is possible for authorities to use "credit card usage and data-mining of CCTV footage" to find out where people with positive cases of Covid-19 were. With applications, this information can be found.

Simple phone applications have also been developed to help citizens self-diagnose themselves and know whether or not they are a threat to the public and to contact quarantine services. In some areas, downloading the application is imperative. This is the case even for tourists.

Many different start-ups have appeared throughout the country to develop products and technologies that can aid the rest of the country. Some of these start-ups are Seegene and MiCo BioMed. They are working to speed up the process of detecting Coronavirus.

Some start-up are even optimise communications and allow teachers and students a better online experience for their studies during this difficult time. 



All over the world, the Coronavirus continues to spread. Now France too has closed schools. Let's hope that technology will help in this battle against Covid-19.
